Graduation and Retention
Graduation rate is the percentage of WTU's students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program. For our 18 month degree-completion program, entering students who complete within 27 months are counted as on-time graduates.
2018 Cohort On-Time Graduation Rate: 53%
Most universities measure Retention rates - the percentage of first-time, first-year undergraduate students who continue at that school the next year. As WTU offers degree-completion programs, we do not enrol first year undergraduate students and so this measure does not apply. Instead we measure Persistence Rates, students who continue with us from the first full year of the program into the next. Persistence demonstrates WTU’s ability to teach and provide the support services necessary for students to progress through to graduation. Students who persist are developing and exhibiting coping mechanisms that can be relevant to career success, and therefore our mission at WTU.
2020 Persistence Rate: 50%
Placement and Benefit Rates
Within 6 months of graduation, students are asked to report whether their WTU degree provided benefit in securing a position or promotion and whether it is providing benefits in carrying out the position’s responsibilities.
2020 Placement Rate: 66% in a direct or related field or continuing education
Self-reported Benefit: 75% (includes those reporting benefit to work performance in unrelated fields)
